Well, let's ground our discussion today in the book of Colossians chapter two, verse seven, and it says this.

Ralph:

Let your roots grow down into him.

Ralph:

And let your lives be built on him.

Ralph:

Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught.

And you will overflow with thankfulness.

Ralph:

We all need to be overflowing with thankfulness.

Ralph:

So today let's explore some practical ways that you can cultivate daily gratitude.

Ralph:

And allow it to transform your outlook as well as your financial life.

Ralph:

There's so many compelling reasons to nurture a grateful mindset.

Ralph:

First of all gratitude draws us closer to God.

Ralph:

When we pause to intentionally acknowledge the blessings in our life.

Ralph:

From finances to health, to relationships.

Ralph:

Our awareness of God's provision grows.

Ralph:

We recognize that he is the giver of every gift.

Ralph:

Gratitude helps anchor our identity in him.

Ralph:

Secondly gratitude, combats, negative emotions.

Ralph:

Choosing gratitude in place of envy in place, a frustration.

Ralph:

In place of greed or resentment, powerfully transform our emotional state.

Ralph:

Studies show that grateful people experience increased joy.

Ralph:

They experienced more enthusiasm, more love, more happiness.

Ralph:

And most of our more optimism.

Ralph:

Thirdly gratitude, boosts physical and emotional health.

Ralph:

By replacing toxic emotions like bitterness and anxiety with gratefulness.

Ralph:

Our stress levels decrease.

Ralph:

And happiness hormones, abound and increase.

Ralph:

This better health , directly impacts finances through lowered healthcare costs, lower stress also empowers clearer money management.

Ralph:

Fourthly gratitude, facilitates contentment.

Ralph:

When we stop constantly striving for more and status.

Ralph:

We can finally enjoy what we already have.

Ralph:

Gratitude fueled contentment liberates us from the financial strains of keeping up with culture's definition of success.

Ralph:

It's so easy to get trapped in that.

Ralph:

Financial strain of keeping up with the Joneses or keeping up with the culture of today.

Ralph:

We need less when we gratefully appreciate more.

Ralph:

And finally gratitude empowers generosity.

Ralph:

Recognizing that all we have comes from God grows our motivation to freely bless others.

Ralph:

And we gratefully share our finances.

Ralph:

Our talents our time.

Ralph:

We tangibly walk out Jesus's command to love our neighbor.

Ralph:

Now that we've explored some key reasons to nurture a grateful mindset.

Ralph:

Here are some simple ways to incorporate gratitude in your daily life.

Ralph:

You know, I always want to give you something that you can use for action.

Ralph:

Because without action, you'll never grow.

Ralph:

Start your day with a morning.

Ralph:

Gratitude, prayer.

Ralph:

I start each morning by thanking God for the gift of a new day.

Ralph:

And bringing my needs and blessings before him.

Ralph:

This truly kick-starts my day from a place of humble dependence instead of my own limited strength.

Ralph:

Listen, folks.

Ralph:

When you finally let go and realize that you don't have the strength on your own.

Ralph:

Ask God for that every morning.

Ralph:

You may consider a gratitude journaling, many financial experts recommend recording two or three things that you're grateful for every day.

Ralph:

This documentation reminds you of blessings.

Ralph:

You may have otherwise overlooked.

Ralph:

And listen folks, the added bonus is you can go back and read your past, journal entries when you need perspective.

Ralph:

Or you need encouragement those days when you're feeling down.

Ralph:

Go back and look at your gratitude journal and realize how much you truly have.

Ralph:

I certainly encourage mealtime.

Ralph:

Thanks.

Ralph:

Take the time to pause before each meal to offer a quick prayer of gratitude, whether you're home alone.

Ralph:

with family at a restaurant or a work luncheon.

Ralph:

Give, thanks for the gift of food and provision in front of you.

Ralph:

It's right there.

Ralph:

God has provided it for you.

Ralph:

End your day with bedtime reflection.

Ralph:

As you power down those screens around you and rest your body at night.

Ralph:

Reflect on the small joys and kindness from your day.

Ralph:

Recall a loved one's.

Ralph:

Smile.

Ralph:

The warmth of the sun.

Ralph:

The feeling of productivity from work accomplished.

Ralph:

Fall asleep, meditating on the goodness that filled your day.

Ralph:

Start your day in prayer end your day in prayer and just live in the realization that God has provided all of this.

Ralph:

How about creating a gratitude jar or a gratitude box?

Ralph:

Decorate a container to collect reminders of blessings and joys throughout the previous weeks and months.

Ralph:

Write them on little slips of paper and enjoy reminiscing.

Ralph:

by occasionally reading notes from past seasons.

Ralph:

Listen, we all go through seasons.

Ralph:

We're all going to have those peaks and valleys in our lives.

Ralph:

This documents.

Ralph:

God's steadfast goodness, over time.

Ralph:

And he is so good to us every day.

Ralph:

He's good to us.

Ralph:

Another thing you can do is embrace the outdoors with nature walks.

Ralph:

Deliberately observing beauty and wonder in the natural world.

Ralph:

God created shifts our focus away from life stresses.

Ralph:

Back to all.

Ralph:

There are many days when I'm feeling overwhelmed here in my practice that I just go out there and stand by the pasture and watch the cows for a little while.

Ralph:

And it really helps humble me.

Ralph:

It puts me back in a good place where I can just look at God's wonder.

Ralph:

Try weekly nature walks to nourish gratitude.

Ralph:

It's another thing you can do get out in nature, get away from those devices and the TV and the internet and all those things.

Ralph:

I also want to offer a special invitation to our entrepreneurial listeners.

Ralph:

Ralph:

Reshape our hearts to default to gratitude in each moment.

Ralph:

Awaken us to small daily wonders that point to your love and generosity.

Ralph:
